Hi, I am visiting my family in Iquique over Christmas and I was looking forward to join a Pascuero organized by some friends. I brought some candies from abroad (Switzerland) which cant be found here and was looking forward to see the surprised eyes of the kids when they pick them up. Now my friends decided not to do the Pascuero and I am sitting on 7 Kilos of sweets. Is it possible to just attach my car to an existing Pascuero or would that be awkward? I really would like to distribute the sweets but I dont know who would take me in. Is there some kind of organization that accepts other cars or some way that I can still distribute the candy? I dont have to go inside the houses and so on, just want to drive around throwing candy. Anything I can do? Sorry for posting in english, my spanish is not good enough. Hello my dude. The “pascuero” you are talking about might be a niche tradition because I have never heard of something like that. What I can tell you is that you can take that candy to your closest kinder garden or rural school, and offer it as a donation. My dad used to be part of the Rotary Club and during christmas he dressed as Santa and delivered donated toys and candy to rural schools and preschools, and they loooooooved it. I bet you can find a place like that near you, and the’ll be extremly thankful.
This “pascuero”, I’m sure it means something good, but it could also mean drug traffic if you read it that way lol
I have only seen they do this in Iquique. I don’t know how it works tho. Maybe if you go on facebook and look for Pascueros groups in Iquique you could ask, if you find any.
I’m not sure what a Pascuero is… you want to throw candy out of your window while you’re driving? That’s not something common, or at least something I’ve actually heard of before. If you want to donate the candy I’d look for a local [Teleton Institute](https://www.teleton.cl/institutos-teleton/), or maybe even contact a social worker in a hospital and ask if they receive candy for their children’s wing.
