Can ENS happen from middle turbinate (concha bullosa) reduction? ,
I have constant pressure in my right sinuses that the ENTs think may be relieved by reducing the size of my slightly enlarged middle turbinate… they said that can’t cause ENS- only the inferior turbinate reduction can. Has anyone experienced ENS from middle turbinate reduction? Also do you think it would help with sinus pressure?

Acording to my surgeon ENS normally happen if you remove the turbinates completely or after several reductions if you reduce them too much.
With that said dont panic if after a turbinate reduction you have ENS for a week or so (happened to me until it healed a bit) it did not fix my problems 100% but it definetely improved my breathing.
Okay, I have experience with this. ENS CAN HAPPEN FROM EVEN MINOR CONTACT WITH ANY OF THE TURBINATES. What people don’t understand is that there are EXTREME ens symptoms, the kinds that full removals of turbinates and extreme resections cause, and then there are moderate/mild and less severe symptoms. Burning the turbinates, moving them, squishing them, can cause ens symptoms. I’m telling you right now u do NOT want to fuck with this shit. I want to die almost everyday which is why I’m getting on medicine. Yes, middle turbinate reduction most definitely CAN cause ENS.
I actually just read that resection of the middle turbinate for concha bullosa is one of the risk factors for ENS because some important nerve is there. I also have concha bullosa.
Yes any procedure can cause ENS. A simple nasal drove me insane and nearly cost me my life. That said, the risk of ENS is very low and it’s more often than not from a repeat surgery.
