Hi LatAm, where ‘concha’ is a bad word, can I use it when clearly referring to a sea shell?

Countries where concha does **not** mean vagina, people can correct me if I’m wrong:

* Nicaragua

* Panama

* Venezuela

I don’t know if concha is a word in Portuguese, but if it is I doubt they would have the same euphemism.

Everything is according to the context, there’s no problem to say concha if you’re talking about sea shells.

Because of Argentinian culture permeating through the internet and TV, younger people understand it can mean vagina, and some people joke about it; however, most people use it to refer to either a shell or someone called Concepcion.

There is a town called La Concepción very close to the capital, and we call it La Concha. I, in fact, went to college with a few Concheños. There is even an evangelical church by the road when you get there called “La Roca de la Concha”; I find it hilarious.

Here in Brazil concha is shell, no other meaning

It’s not a bad word but it doesn’t prevent knowing looks or insinuations

Concha is only a bad word. in Spain, but not in Latin America.

In Ecuador, concha also means pussy

Si, podes. La mayoria de la gente aca le gusta ser especifico para diferenciarlas entonces decimos “concha de mar”. Si solo decis concha, va a depender el contexto
