I wonder how many people know you can actually buy movies on Steam, I didn’t discover this until recently.

Constantly forget, it’s real limited.

There’s a LOT less than there used to be. They really scaled them down since they had to be game related. (Although there’s still a few that are questionable under that rule)

It’s too bad this hasn’t really taken off and they aren’t part of the Movies Anywhere program. Movies would have made the Steam Deck an even better all around device.

Can’t beat the prices compared to what HDBits gives.

You can buy movies?

I remember when I went to check if the Saw video game was on Steam. I got excited thinking that it was. It was the movie, which I already had on DVD and bluray.

I much prefer the other video content they got.

Oats Studio with their short videos was incredibly amazing. I believe if you paid for a DLC for Oats Studios, you got to keep higher definition of the videos as well as some 3D-printable assets.

I would love to rent/buy movies that came out in 3D and view them in VR. I never saw Cameron’s Avatar in theaters.

I bought the entire Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex series, sadly the player sucks ass, hope they improve it

Don’t do it, the player is awful and you can’t download the movies. I paid for RWBY and Red vs Blue, and I wish I had paid for them on a different service.

Blockbuster video

I remember my first movie in 2012, Indie Game: The Movie, which was an absolutely masterpiece movie about Meat Boy, Fez and Braid and also a documentary about main developers and their dreams.

I filtered them out when they started carrying them on the store and I keep forgetting they ever existed on there.

If it was 4K MKVs…I’d bite…

Interesting. I would have probably used this feature if I actually knew it existed.

Steam is reliable for games so I would expect it to be reliable for movies too.

Although I guess the one downside is you’d have to have a way of getting it to your home entertainment system if you had one.

Unfortunately I can’t see any of these in store because “This item is currently unavailable in your region”

I was wondering how I didn’t know about it. Turns out it’s not available everywhere. Shame.

I think I would buy if they had a large selection and their content when on sale like the games. I think this would be pretty cool to own and support your favorites.

I bought “Indie Game: The Movie”. The movie is great, but the Steam part of it sucks.
