What yang also said in past is : “ we have to stop letting media profit from pitting us against each other “.
The only reason I feel fox discussing this is he criticised dem party not because he is smart/logical/honest as they say.
Multiple times he even criticised Republican Party and trump…did fox covered those times as passionately as they did now ? No.
And infact people are pitting against each other because now many label that yang comment as right wing talking point /neoliberal talking point ..instead of talking the substance of his comment.
yang talked about class issue,particularly about the ones that are not voting for dem party .trump gained more votes from all races now when compared to 2016 (except white men)
But many on left made it an issue focusing through the lens of race ,which yang didn’t said or went into.
Lack of nuanced thinking/conversation and also context is what dividing people imo.
It’s nice Fox News is talking about Andrew, but they tend to spin his criticism into partisan attacks that are beside his point. For example, Joe Concha criticizes CNN and the Democratic Party for holding primary town halls focused on climate change instead of meat and potato issues that Yang holds positions on. However, climate change is *not* a social/elitist issue, it is a scientific issue that effects everyday Americans and is one that Andrew has a lot of strongly held policy positions on. It’s like they just take the criticism part and then skip over the reasons and rationale.
My take on this:
After focusing on getting Biden elected, Yang is now focusing on depolarizing and reuniting the American people so anything can be achieved.

When Yang criticizes the Democratic party for a failure of messaging, he’s speaking truth to power and should be lauded as a hero.
When Fox News criticizes the Democratic party for a failure of messaging, they are being deceitful and manipulative.
We must Make America Think Harder, and be able to listen to the criticisms from the Republican party and be able to discern the criticism that is just and criticism that just makes themselves feel better.
If we never listen we won’t know how to improve.
I still don’t get why people interpreted it as that’s what Yang’s opinion is as much as what he heard from people and that is their belief. And that Dems can reach these people if they can successfully challenge and change this perception. Yang’s plan was quite simple here – UBI would absolutely, radically improve life for people in rural areas and wouldn’t be another form of targeting that has grown into resentment as Yang described in his book. This would cement into rural voters’ lives that a Democrat did care and made life better for them, not even Republicans that gave tiny tax cuts for them over decades.
In my mind, the FD would do more for the Democratic Party than all the social efforts combined not because those are wrong but because it needs a lot of power and less obstruction to get any of it done, which the FD would do (maybe with some immigration reform so it’s easier for long term residents to get citizenship with terms like no criminal record or whatever).
Glad that people over at fox are listening to Yang and dont pit thier viewers against him.
